Responsibilities
Lead and supervise daily activities of a landscaping and maintenance crew, ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently.
Perform grounds maintenance tasks such as mowing, pruning, edging, raking leaves, watering, and planting.
Operate and maintain landscaping equipment, including various mowers, trimmers, blowers, and hand tools.
Conduct job site inspections and complete job site checklists to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
Complete administrative duties such as crew timecards, equipment inventory, and material reports accurately and on time.
Drive crew members to and from work sites as needed.
Ensure all crew members follow safety protocols, attend safety meetings, and use personal protective equipment (PPE) appropriately.
Identify and report issues related to irrigation, safety, or equipment to the Maintenance Manager.
Respond to customer requests within contract allowances and provide courteous, timely service.
Participate in winter services such as snow clearing, plowing, shoveling, and salting as needed.
Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
Demonstrate proper horticultural practices, including planting, pruning, and pest identification.
Work collaboratively with team members and communicate effectively with field staff and supervisors.
Qualifications
At least three (3) years of professional landscape and grounds maintenance experience.
Strong knowledge of horticultural practices, including planting, pruning, and plant identification.
Ability to operate and maintain landscaping equipment and hand tools safely.
Demonstrated leadership skills and experience supervising a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to complete administrative tasks accurately and on time.
Valid driver’s license required and must be maintained throughout employment.
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds and walking on uneven ground.
Bilingual English and Spanish skills are desirable but not required.
