Overview
Engineering/manufacturing organization seeking a Senior R&D Engineer with
strong pump or rotating equipment experience
.
This role leads product development, testing, and engineering analysis with a focus on improving performance and reliability of
pump systems and related fluid-handling equipment
.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with
pump design, hydraulics, performance testing, or troubleshooting pump-based systems
in industrial or manufacturing environments.
Responsibilities
Lead R&D and product development for pump and fluid-handling systems
Perform engineering analysis (FEA/CFD) supporting pump performance and design improvements
Develop and execute test plans, validation studies, and DOE for pump systems
Conduct root cause analysis on pump performance, failures, or field issues
Support prototype builds, testing, and data collection for rotating equipment
Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and commercial teams
Produce CAD updates, engineering documentation, and technical reports
Mentor junior engineers on pump design and analysis methods
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
5+ years of experience in R&D or product development
Direct experience with pumps, hydraulics, or rotating equipment strongly required
Experience with FEA/CFD, testing, and structured problem-solving
Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
Preferred
Master's degree
PE license
Lean Six Sigma certification
