Equipment Operator - Chiefland FL
The Equipment Operator operates heavy equipment of various types to remove branches and tree material from electrical lines.
Essential functions include following and enforcing safe practices, preparing equipment and materials, operating equipment as directed, maintaining and repairing equipment, assisting other crew members, cleaning up debris, setting up barriers and signs, staying informed on new equipment and practices, tracking mileage, and performing storm work duties as needed.
Supervisory responsibilities include no direct reports.
Experience requirements include prior heavy equipment operating experience in electric utility vegetation management, construction, logging, landscaping, mechanical, or military industries preferred.
A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities include knowledge of equipment maintenance and safe operations, physical strength and balance, ability to work outdoors, hearing verbal instructions, obtaining first-aid certification and CPR, wearing personal protective equipment, good vision, maintaining a driver's license and CDL, reading and writing job instructions, maintaining balance over uneven terrain, communication, and endurance for an eight or ten-hour day.
Position requires passing a background check and drug screen.
Work authorization must meet I-9 requirements.
