Job Title: Artificial Intelligence (AI) Engineer - Frontend focus

Location: Remote with occasional travel to client site in Baltimore. Candidates must currently live within a commutable distance of the office.

Employment Type: W2 on ExpediteInfoTech's payroll. This position requires a Permanent resident or a U.S. citizen. The selected candidate will go through a Public Trust Clearance process.

Position Overview:

A frontend-focused AI Engineer is responsible for building intuitive user interfaces for enterprise AI solutions, with emphasis on creating interactive AI experiences, Financial platforms, and executive dashboards that support client engagement and AI adoption initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

12+ years of IT experience.

3+ years of experience as an AI Engineer

2+ years of experience in UI/UX development for AI projects

Key Responsibilities:

AI User Interface Development

Build responsive, interactive frontends for LLM-powered applications using React and modern web frameworks.

Develop Streamlit applications for rapid AI prototyping and executive demonstrations.

Create intuitive chat interfaces with real-time messaging, typing indicators, and conversation history.

Design user-friendly interfaces for complex AI workflows, including RAG systems and agentic processes.

Build Wireframes.

Develop visual demonstrations of prompt engineering techniques and AI model behaviors.

Create engaging interfaces for AI concept visualization and hands-on learning experiences.

Build assessment tools and progress tracking for AI literacy programs.

Executive Dashboard & Reporting

Design executive-level dashboards for AI system performance monitoring and insights

Create visualization interfaces for AI model accuracy metrics, feedback analysis, and usage statistics.

Build reporting tools for Executive Order compliance tracking and implementation status.

Develop real-time monitoring interfaces for AI system health and performance metrics.

User Experience & Integration

Integrate frontend applications with backend AI services via REST APIs and WebSocket connections.

Implement user authentication, session management, and role-based access controls.

Optimize frontend performance for AI applications with large data sets and real-time responses.

Ensure responsive design across desktop, tablet, and mobile platforms.

Collaboration & Support

Work closely with backend developers to define API requirements and data structures.

Create intuitive AI interaction patterns.

Support client demonstrations and training sessions with polished, professional interfaces.

Gather user feedback and iterate on interface designs for improved AI adoption.

Frontend Development (Minimum 3 Years)

React: Advanced proficiency in React.js, hooks, state management, and component architecture

Modern Web Technologies: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript ES6+, responsive design principles

Streamlit: Experience building AI-focused applications and interactive demos

API Integration: RESTful services, WebSocket connections, and asynchronous data handling

Version Control: GitHub workflows and collaborative development practices

AI Interface Expertise (Minimum 3 Years)

Chat Interfaces: Building conversational UI/UX with message threading and context awareness

AI Visualization: Creating interfaces for prompt engineering, model outputs, and AI workflows

Real-time Applications: WebSocket implementation for live AI interactions and streaming responses

Data Visualization: Charts, graphs, and interactive displays for AI metrics and analytics

User Experience: Understanding AI user interaction patterns and cognitive load considerations

Cloud & Development Environment

AWS Integration: Frontend deployment on AWS (S3, CloudFront, API Gateway). Large Language Model (LLM) Ops, Amazon SageMaker, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and FedRAMP High-compliant cloud architectures within AWS GovCloud.

CI/CD: Automated deployment pipelines and version management

Development Tools: Modern build tools (Webpack, Vite), package managers (npm, yarn)

Testing: Frontend testing frameworks and user acceptance testing

Preferred Qualifications:

Additional Frameworks: Vue.js, Angular, or other modern frontend frameworks

Docker: Containerization for consistent development environments

UI/UX Design: Design system implementation, accessibility standards (WCAG)

Python: Basic understanding for Streamlit customization and backend collaboration

Mobile Development: React Native or progressive web app experience

Technical Environment:

Modern frontend stack with React, TypeScript, and cloud deployment

Integration with AWS Bedrock, custom LLM APIs, and real-time AI services

Collaborative development with GitHub, automated testing, and continuous deployment

Cross-browser compatibility and mobile-responsive design requirements

Work Environment:

Remote with occasional onsite client demonstration requirements

Collaborative team environment working closely with AI/ML engineers

Fast-paced environment supporting executive-level initiatives and client Financial systems

Regular interaction with non-technical stakeholders requires clear communication skills

Education Requirements:

Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Web Development, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field
