Pavement Design Engineer, Gaithersburg

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Pavement Design Engineer to join our team in Rockville, MD. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and analyzing pavement structures for various transportation projects, ensuring optimal performance and longevity of road surfaces.

Developing pavement designs per AASHTO '93 guidelines, mechanistic empirical methods (AASHTOWare Pavement ME), and applicable design standards for state and local DOTs

Performing and leading engineering design tasks for pavement design projects from preliminary to final design

Developing plans, specifications, quantities, and cost estimates

Coordinating design activities between staff, subcontractors, and clients

Managing day-to-day activities of projects including interagency coordination, technical review, and other related activities

Supporting and performing project management functions to ensure projects meet the defined schedules, cost estimates, and performance/technical measures and specifications

This includes development of Project Management Plans, Scopes of Work, Cost Estimates, and other project management related activities

Assisting in preparing reports, plans, and studies

Performing other related duties as assigned
