Mine Surveyor
Energy Fuels is a leading producer of critical materials, including rare earth elements and uranium, with a growing domestic and international footprint. Energy Fuels is seeking a Mine Surveyor to join our team. This role is responsible for delivering accurate survey data, maintaining survey control and producing reliable survey plans that support safe, efficient, and compliant mine development and production activities.Why Join Energy Fuels Direct exposure to leadership Broad scope of responsibility across domestic and international operations Competitive compensation and benefits, commensurate with experience This position is based in Energy Fuels' La Sal Complex in La Sal, UT. A combination of fieldwork and office-based data processing. Work schedule may include extended hours or rotational shifts depending on operational needs, but typically is a standard 4-10 schedule.Essential Duties/Responsibilities
Perform underground and surface 3D as-built surveys using total stations and related survey equipment (Leica TS16/MS60 experience a plus) Establish, verify, and maintain survey control Execute layout for mining operations, including drill hole alignment, face drilling and blasting (azimuth, grade, and dimensions), and development reference linesSurvey completed development and production areas to ensure compliance with mine designs Update and maintain survey drawings and mine plans using Vulcan/AutoCAD (or similar software) Prepare monthly production reports, including development footage and volumetric calculations Calculate volumes for ore, waste, and surface stockpilesProvide survey support for mine planning, engineering, and geology teams Assist in alignment and positioning of surface and underground exploration drilling Ensure all work is conducted in compliance with company safety standards and MSHA regulations Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications/Education/Skills:
Practical, solutions-oriented mindset with strong ownership and accountability 0-2 years of surveying experience, preferably in underground mining - for level C
3-7 years for level B 7+ years for level A
Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering 1 year of practical surveying experience, preferred Valid Driver's License Proficiency with survey equipment (total stations required, GPS and laser scanning a plus) Experience with Vulcan or similar mine planning software preferred Strong organizational and time management skillsAbility to work independently and adapt to changing field conditions Solid mathematical, spatial reasoning, and data interpretation skills Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Effective written and verbal communication skills Working knowledge of safe work practices, MSHA standards, and hazard recognitionDemonstrated ability to work independently in active mining environments Physical/Sensory Demands:
Ability to travel to company sites as needed Ability to work in underground and surface environments, including confined spaces, uneven terrain, and varying weather conditions. Must be able to lift 75lbs Colorado Compliance Notices
Compensation Transparency (Colorado Compliance) $62,000– $75,000 annually for level C $76,000 - $95,000 annually for level B $96,000 - $110,000 annually for level A *Actual compensation may vary based on experience, qualifications, location, and internal equity.
