The City of Montrose is seeking a temporary or seasonal employee for the Black Canyon Golf Course Pro Shop. This position offers a salary of $15.16 hourly and is located at Black Canyon Golf Course, Montrose, CO. The basic purpose of the job is to perform a variety of duties involved in the operations of the Pro Shop, including scheduling tee times, assisting with merchandise sales, answering phone inquiries, and assisting golfers with cart rental, proper use, fueling, and cleaning of carts. The role emphasizes providing guests with friendly, prompt, and efficient service to ensure high customer satisfaction at all times.Essential functions of the job include: Performing assigned duties in the pro shop and cart barn. Collecting payments for green fees, cart rentals, annual pass sales, merchandise sales. Maintaining accurate inventory and restocking items related to pro shop operations. Carrying and cleaning customer golf clubs from starting area to cart.Maintaining staging area, driving range, and practice area setup. Receiving guests at end of round, recording finish time, and reporting it to the pro shop as needed. Providing excellent customer service and maintaining a professional appearance at all times. Ability to interpret and follow instructions. Ability to operate a point of sale system and accurately account for monies received. Ability to work independently without supervision. Able to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.Ability to comply with safety standards Interpersonal skills and a customer first mentality. Licensures and certificates required: Must be 16 years of age or older. Previous experience in a similar position preferred. Knowledge of proper golf course etiquette and the game and play of golf. Computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word and Excel).Valid Colorado driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. Physical requirements and work environment include: Ability to stand and continuously move throughout the workday. Must be able to bend, stoop, and climb. Frequent lifting of up to 20 pounds, 75 pounds occasionally, lift overhead, push/pull or movelighter objects.Carrying, walking, and hand/eye coordination. Vision for reading, handling cash, and to read computer screen. Frequent speech communication, hearing, and listening to maintain communications with employees and citizens. Works equally in a clean, comfortable office environment and in an outdoor environment with exposure to heat, sun, weather, cold, noise, dust, and petroleum fuel products.Late applications will not be accepted.
