Job Summary
The Mechanical Engineer Intern will be a part of the Engineering Technical Support Team which support the operational maintenance of Safran Actuation systems on the commercial and military aircraft. The Mechanical Engineer intern will be working under the supervision of the Lead Mechanical Engineer to support the maintenance of these products.
Essential Job Functions
• Technical Review of the Component Maintenance Manual and update all the supporting documents
• Assist the Engineer:
• Reviewing and updating of technical documentation for torque validation
• Verifying all the torque equipment used by technicians
• Creating 3D models of torque adapter with SolidWorks
• Provide support to technicians with technical questions
• Provide weekly summary report of projects and tasks
• Other duties may be assigned.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to remain in a stationary position and occasionally move about the office and laboratory. Constantly operates and use a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a copier/printer and laboratory machinery. The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information. The ability to observe, identify and assess details at close range (within a few feet of the observer). Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds across office for various needs.
Work Environment
The work environment is split between office&laboratory work, with most work being performed in the office. Noise level in the office is typically quiet while the noise level in the lab can occasionally require hearing protection.

Education/Experience
• Currently majoring in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related Engineering field
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Has basic skills in analytical or scientific method
• Has basic knowledge in engineering concepts
• Basic knowledge in mechanical analysis related to kinematics, tolerance stack-ups, and strength / robustness
• Familiar with 3D modeling software such as Solidworks, CATIA, Pro\E, and AutoCAD
• Familiar with standard mechanical engineering tools
• Basic knowledge of electronic tools (Multi-meter, Power Supply, etc.)
• Proficient with Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship
• This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. ''Green Card Holder''), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
