Mechanical Design Engineer, Michigan

Fives DyAG Corp is looking for an experienced Mechanical Designer or Mechanical Design Engineer in the Rochester Hills, MI area.

Position Summary

Conceptual and detailed design and engineering of custom equipment, machinery, fixtures, tooling and industrial automation. Complete mechanical aptitude needed to design, build, ship and service products.  This role requires strong knowledge and experience with Revit as well as duct work (preferrably industrial).

Job Responsibilities:

Provide general design support for all projects as required using REVIT 3D Modeling software

Must be able to use Revit's features to develop accurate takeoffs that utilize specific and custom parameter/calculation interactions.  Some of the takeoff, parameter, and calculation integration is advanced.

Design equipment to meet internal and customer requirements/specifications and key project milestone dates within the quoted budget and scope

Add and update items within Bill of Materials in ERP/MRP system

Knowledge of Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) is helpful

Attend and conduct customer design reviews

Assist in compiling documentation

Provide technical assistance to Estimating, Sales, Production and Service, as required

Work collaboratively and communicate effectively in team environment, which may involve Machine (builders), Project Management, Engineering Teams, Management and support functions;

Other job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in a technical field is preferred. Relevant experience is also acceptable

3+ years of mechanical design experience with industrial automated or process equipment

Experienced in designing manufacturing process layouts

Very strong mechanical aptitude

Experience doing mechanical or MEP design with Revit is required.  An expert in Revit is preferred.

Experienced designing duct work for either industrial equipment or facilities

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. Load calculation experience is also a plus
