CAD Designer
The CAD Designer is responsible for the design and drafting of mechanical parts and assemblies, prototype development, and the preparation and management of project documentation. This role reports directly to the Manager of Integration and plays a critical role in supporting the Bill of Materials (BOM) and Engineering Change Order (ECO) processes. Working closely with suppliers and utilizing machine shop tools, the CAD Designer supports prototype fabrication and ongoing design refinement. This position ensures all deliverables meet established quality standards and contributes significantly to the successful integration and execution of engineering projects.Key Responsibilities: Design and draft mechanical components and assemblies for integration projects using CAD software. Develop and assist in the construction of prototypes and final assemblies. Create and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOM) within the MRP system. Prepare and process Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and update associated documentation.Monitor project timelines and deliverables, reporting progress to the Integration Lead. Source and procure components, collaborating with suppliers as needed. Operate machine shop equipment to fabricate prototypes and modify assemblies. Maintain comprehensive and up to date project documentation.Perform additional duties as assigned to support engineering, shop floor and integration efforts. Required Skills: Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for mechanical design and drafting. Demonstrated experience in mechanical design and system integration. Strong understanding of BOM creation, ECO processes, and project tracking.Effective communication skills, particularly in supplier coordination and project reporting. Preferred Qualifications: RFID Knowledge Familiarity with 3D Printing Process Understanding of automation systems, including PLCs.
