Payroll Coordinator
Location: Kingsley Area Schools Administrative Office Starting Date: July 1, 2026 Rate of Pay: Negotiable Based on Experience Bachelor degree with training in accounting, payroll, human resources or related subjects Three (3) years of successful work experience in payroll Familiarity with Michigan public school rules and regulations, including record retention requirements Strong analytical and mathematical aptitude Skilled in computerized accounting systems, word processing and spreadsheet applications Knowledge of pertinent federal, state and local laws, policies, rules and regulations related to Human Resources and PayrollDemonstrated excellent organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and follow-through to resolve outstanding issues Strong customer service skills with demonstrated ethical, inclusive, and equitable practices and behaviors Ability to prioritize and coordinate work schedules during periods of high volume to meet deadlines Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and a professional demeanor Possess or be eligible for MSBO Certification or PayrollOrg Certification QualificationsPosition Details The Payroll Coordinator is a full-year 260 day position, responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll operations while ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws, regulations and district policies. This position supports payroll, human resources and accounting functions through strong analytical skills, attention to detail, customer service and confidentiality. The Payroll Coordinator works collaboratively with district staff to maintain accurate payroll records, resolve payroll-related issues and ensure adherence to Michigan public school payroll and accounting requirements.
