Job Description We are looking for an experienced accounting specialist to join a growing organization in Colorado. This position plays an important role in producing reliable financial information, strengthening accounting processes, and supporting timely close activities in an operationally driven environment. The ideal candidate brings a strong grasp of financial reporting, cost analysis, and cross-functional collaboration, along with the ability to contribute meaningful improvements as the business continues to expand.
Responsibilities:• Create and review journal entries, reconciliations, and detailed account support to maintain accurate financial records. • Drive month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities to ensure deadlines are met and reporting is complete. • Monitor revenue and expense recording to confirm alignment with company accounting policies and reporting standards.• Evaluate operational and project-related spending, identifying trends and supporting profitability analysis. • Examine balance sheet and income statement activity to verify accuracy, completeness, and proper classification. • Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and variance review by providing clear financial analysis and insights.• Assist with the rollout and refinement of accounting tools and systems, including platforms such as Ramp. • Strengthen internal controls and refine accounting workflows to improve consistency and efficiency. • Partner with auditors, tax advisors, and internal stakeholders to support compliance, filings, and reporting needs.• Work closely with operations, finance, and leadership teams to deliver financial insight that supports business decisions.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is required. • At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including ownership of close and general ledger activities. • Background in oilfield services, energy, or another operationally intensive industry is preferred.• Solid knowledge of financial reporting principles and standard accounting practices. • Experience using Sage Intacct and advanced Excel capabilities, including lookups, pivot tables, and complex formulas, is preferred. • Familiarity with account reconciliations, bank reconciliations, fixedassets, equipment or inventory tracking, and journal entry preparation.• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively.
