Licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS)– Project Manager Land Development Surveying Location: High Point, NC Department: Surveying Reports To: Sr. Project Manager / Survey Director FLSA Status: Exempt ⚠️ IMPORTANT: Active Survey License Required Applicants must hold a valid North Carolina Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license oractive North Carolina Surveyor Intern (SI) certification . Candidates without current licensure will not be considered. About the Role FEI is seeking a licensed Professional Land Surveyor to serve as a Survey Project Manager supporting land development projects. This role combines technical oversight, project management, and leadership of survey teams while maintaining strong client and regulatory relationships. This is a licensed professional role with responsibility for survey quality, field coordination, project performance, and client delivery. Key Responsibilities Manage and oversee landdevelopment surveying projects from field data through final deliverables Analyze field data and research to prepare: Boundary surveys ALTA/NSPS and loan surveys Plot plans, as-builts, and final plats Interpret engineering drawings and coordinate survey points and grading for field staking Preparecomplete survey packages, maps, and files for survey crews Serve as the technical resource for survey crews and office staff Schedule and manage multiple survey crews to maximize utilization and efficiency Ensure accountability for survey equipment, vehicles, and maintenance Coordinate effectively with engineers, regulators, and other technical staff Identify project opportunities and support business development efforts Assist with project scoping, budgets, schedules, billing, and time tracking Attend client, municipal, and agency meetings as required Promote ethics, safety, teamwork, and FEIcorporate goals Required Qualifications Active North Carolina Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license or Surveyor Intern (SI) certification Minimum of 3 years of land development surveying experience Proficiency with AutoCAD and Carlson in a surveying environment Experience with Topcon and/or Leica survey equipment and data collectors Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Valid North Carolina Driver’s License Preferred Qualifications Associate’s degree in Surveying, Geomatics, or related field Experience with Ajera or similar project/financial management software Prior experience managing multiple crews or office survey staff Work Environment&Schedule Office-based position Mon–Thu: 7:30am–5:30pm | Fri: 7:30am–11:30am Why FEI Relationship-driven consulting culture Leadership role with real technical authority Stable workload with predictable scheduling Opportunity to lead and grow within FEI’s surveying practice Pre-Employment Requirement All candidates receivingan offer must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening per FEI Health and Safety requirements.
