Job Title: Material Handler
!! 2nd shift from 11am - 7:30pm , Pay rate $16+ !!
Responsibilities
- Support continuous operation of shredding and baling equipment by keeping paper products moving along the conveyor line.
- Use brooms and shovels to push loose paper products back onto the conveyor so they can be shredded and processed.
- Assist with operating or learning to operate shredding and baling equipment under supervision.
- Train to operate sit-down forklifts safely, including using different attachments to move paper rolls, bales, and other materials.
- Assist with cutting large paper rolls into smaller sizes by properly positioning rolls and activating a simple two-button cutting control system.
- Follow instructions to set up and position paper rolls correctly before cutting operations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area around shredders, balers, cutting equipment, and docks.
- Perform shipping dock cleaning, including sweeping, shoveling, and picking up paper products and debris.
- Collect and place paper products into appropriate containers or areas so they are ready for next-day shredding operations.
- Load and unload materials using a sit-down forklift, including moving products in and out of shipping and receiving areas.
- Follow safety procedures and guidelines at all times, especially when working around machinery and forklifts.
- Work both on and off the forklift as needed, assisting with manual tasks when not operating equipment.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Greensboro, NC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
