Founding Data Platform Engineer, South Carolina

Core Responsibilities

Architect and develop scalable backend services and APIs to support the company's core platform

Build and maintain efficient data pipelines to power analytics and AI/ML use cases

Oversee the architecture and optimization of the data lake and data warehouse

Design workflows that support integration and experimentation with machine learning models

Ensure backend systems meet performance, security, and reliability standards

Make key infrastructure decisions, focusing on scalability and data governance

Collaborate on long-term operational strategy and technical vision

Manage client-facing dashboards and ensure accuracy of data delivery

Desired Skills & Qualifications

Expertise in Python, SQL, and backend frameworks (e.g., FastAPI, Django, Node.js)

Experience with modern data pipeline tools (e.g., Airflow, dbt, Kafka, Spark)

Proficiency in cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure)

Strong understanding of both relational and non-relational databases

Familiarity with AI/ML development workflows, including model training and inference

Highly detail-oriented with a growth mindset and strong collaboration skills

Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication abilities

Comfortable operating in a high-stakes, fast-paced startup environment
