As a Data Scientist at GLS, you will play a vital role in addressing critical business challenges by applying your strong critical thinking, academic expertise, and ability to quickly master new concepts and domains, transforming knowledge into practical solutions. How will you drive value within the organization as a Data Scientist?

Understanding business problems and needs to design effective data science solutions Gathering data from various sources, cleaning it appropriately, and visualizing it to identify anomalies and patterns Developing robust predictive models using suitable modeling techniques Generating insights and crafting a cohesive narrative from the data, summarizing analytical results, and presenting them to stakeholdersCollaborating with business partners to translate models into actionable business strategies Working with IT to implement models into IT platforms for automated decision-making Monitoring model performance to ensure effectiveness and validity Continuously learning new technologies and refining skills dailyWhat should you already know to be successful as a Data Scientist?

Strong foundational knowledge in statistics, data science, and machine learning, including techniques such as multivariate regression, decision trees, stochastic gradient boosting, and deep learning Proficiency in programming and working with open-source AI/ML languages and tools, including but not limited to SQL, Python, R, scikit-learn, statsmodels, XGBoost, and LightGBMProven experience in managing and analyzing large datasets Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas in a clear, business-oriented, and user-friendly manner Self-motivated with a demonstrated ability to take initiative, identify opportunities for improvement, make actionable recommendations, and see them through to implementation while assessing their effectivenessOutstanding interpersonal skills: approachable, tactful, and capable of influencing others, resolving conflicts, exercising sound judgment, maintaining confidentiality, and collaborating with all levels of the organization to build strong cross-functional partnerships Employment Requirements:

This is an exempt level position whereby business need will dictate the exact work schedule which should be expected to vary at times. Generally, the days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30am-5:30pm Regular, predictable attendance is required, including in excess of 40 hours per week as business demands dictateEvening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand The position does not require travel Significant portions of daily assignments involve application of manual skills requiring motor coordination in combination with finger dexterity Remain in a stationary position up to 100% of the workdayBe able to perform activities such as: viewing a computer terminal, extensive reading, bending, and kneeling 2023 California Applicant Privacy Notice
