Job Requirements

Position Summary

A Laboratory Assistant Non-Technical registers patients/specimens by validating and keying correct demographic and billing information and performs compliant order verification. Orders lab procedures in the LIS. Accessions and processes all types of patient specimens in preparation for testing in the various sections of the laboratory. A Laboratory Assistant Non-Technical must follow established laboratory standards, practices, and procedures. Understands and complies with the Behavior Standards and department policies, procedures and regulations.

Minimum Requirements

Education• High School Graduate or Equivalent

Experience• Intermediate level of computer knowledge and experience

License/Registration/Certifications• N/A

Preferred Education• N/A

Preferred Experience• Prior laboratory experience or hospital registration experience • Knowledge of ICD-10 coding • Knowledge of insurance
