The Role
We're looking for an individual who is proactive, a creative problem-solver, and able to handle a high level of responsibility to join our Manufacturing Technology team.
Your primary focus will be partnering with cross-functional teams to create, develop, and implement equipment improvements to optimize production output.
The Embedded Systems Engineer/Mechatronics Engineer will serve as a technical resource for Production and Operational leadership, investigating problems, analyzing root causes, and driving solutions while maintaining high-quality standards.
The Embedded Systems Engineer / Mechatronics Engineer plays a vital role in Sttark's success, built on a foundation of customer obsession and automation.
You will collaborate with multiple stakeholders to identify and develop more robust processes and systems, including controls integration, robotics, automation technologies, and software-driven manufacturing systems.

Strategic Responsibilities & Deliverables
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate manufacturing requirements and develop solutions consistent with customer and product line objectives within project timing
Lead the integration of mechanical, electrical, controls, and automation systems to improve manufacturing efficiency and equipment reliability
Support manufacturing in troubleshooting equipment and process issues during first article builds and integration into existing products
Spearhead projects to enhance and upgrade machinery, documenting all activities to ensure seamless maintenance and future improvements
Take the lead in machine installation and relocation activities, leveraging instrumentation and control expertise to streamline the process
Work with robotics, sensors, HMIs, PLCs, automation controls, and software-based system integration to optimize manufacturing processes and system performance
Stay abreast of advancements in robotic controls, industrial automation, and smart manufacturing technologies to continuously improve operations
Basic Qualifications
Self-motivated, creative thinker with a strong desire to learn and the ability to work independently on multiple competing priorities with moderate supervision
Good foresight and detail-oriented
Ability to communicate technical information effectively across all teams, as well as with suppliers and vendors
Ability to learn and grow technical skills with automation, controls, and manufacturing technologies as they evolve over time
Required Skills
Strong proficiency in Python
Experience with C/C++ development, including Arduino or embedded systems
Experience with servo motor and stepper motor controls
Linux system and CLI experience
Version control using Git
Web development fundamentals, including JavaScript, HTML/CSS
Preferred Qualifications
BS Degree in Mechatronics Engineering or related field (Technical two-year degree with equivalent work experience may be considered)
Real-time programming and control systems
Experience with Rust
EtherCAT, Modbus, or other industrial communication protocols
Machine vision/computer vision systems
AI integration and deployment in robotics or automation systems
