Hazardous Waste Groundwater Operator (Part-Time) - 23285, Oregon

Overview:
We are seeking a Hazardous Waste Groundwater Operator for a part-time assignment in The Dalles, Oregon. The selected candidate will perform a variety of tasks in the operations and maintenance of the equipment, instruments, processes and support systems of a hazardous waste groundwater treatment facility

 

Hours are Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, 8:00am - 4:30pm

 

This is a part-time position; working 3 days per week

Responsibilities:
- Learn and gain skills to monitor control panels; making adjustments both manually or by remote control

- Operate and control electric motors, pumps and control valves to regulate processes

- Maintain a log of operations, observes variations in operating conditions and records and interprets meter and gauge readings

- Collects samples and performs routine laboratory tests

- Measure water and oil levels in monitoring wells

- Transfer oil from oil/water separators to storage tank

- Chemical level monitoring and mixing

- Perform routine and basic calibration of instruments and gauges

- Perform routine weekly inspections

- Perform routine pump and other maintenance and custodial duties as required

- Follow developed plans and procedures

- Maintain required site logs and forms

Qualifications:
- A valid Dirver's License

- 5 - 10 years experience working in an industrial environment

- A current 40-Hour HAZWOPER is highly preferred
