Asset & Logistics Manager

Director of Warehouse & Fleet Operations

OVERVIEW:
This position reports to the Director of Warehouse and Fleet Operations and is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse, yard, logistics, and equipment operations across multiple company locations.
This role ensures scaffold equipment is maintained in rental-ready condition, inventory is accurately managed, and deliveries are coordinated efficiently to meet project timelines.
The position collaborates closely with all departments to optimize workflow, maintain safety and compliance standards, and support overall operational success.
Specific duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES:
Asset Management
Manage resources, materials, and tools across all yard locations, including procurement of required materials and equipment
Assist in procurement, inventory control, and billing for all assets, including equipment rentals, maintenance supplies, safety gear, and repair services
Evaluate and manage departmental, capital expenditure, and project-related budgets and expenses
Support and comprehend leases associated with vehicles, forklifts, yards, waste removal, sanitation supplies, and other related items
Generate reports and documentation as needed
Establish strong relationships with vendors to ensure competitive pricing
Inventory
Conduct annual inventories
Maintain and update inventory using company software
Adjust purchased or damaged items daily
Ensure all materials are returned from closed projects
Complete billing for any damaged or lost items
Maintain appropriate stock levels to meet supply and demand
Develop and maintain inventory management systems utilizing approved software platforms
Rental Fleet
Oversee rental processes for all mobile equipment and tools
Ensure all equipment is maintained in "rental-ready" condition year-round
Negotiate optimal rates, monitor usage, and coordinate scheduling of pickups and returns
Manage scaffold re-rentals, including securing the best rates, maintaining tracking records, and scheduling pickups and returns
Logistics
Work collaboratively with other departments, as well as the Warehouse and Fleet Manager, to optimize yard operations and the efficient movement of materials between locations
Support Field Management, Safety, Fabrication, Hoisting, and Sales Teams with scaffold support
Supervise logistics, warehousing, transportation, and customer service functions in collaboration with the Director and departmental management team
Understand logistics pertaining to upcoming awarded projects
Receive and input orders, coordinate retrieval, and ensure proper truck loading
Generate and distribute truck schedules to all relevant departments
Adapt to sudden or emergency changes as they arise
Source external trucking services when necessary
Warehouse & Operations
Oversee the day-to-day management of warehouse teams across all company sites, providing leadership, guidance, and operational support as needed
Attend and contribute to Operations meetings as required
Collaborate with the Warehouse Manager and Fleet Manager to plan and coordinate the operational delivery of equipment, ensuring maximum efficiency and on-time performance
Plan, coordinate, and monitor inbound and outbound deliveries locally and across national project locations, including carrier selection and rate/contract negotiations
Organize warehouse and yard operations to best support business and operational requirements
Ensure all operations comply with applicable laws, company policies, safety standards, and ISO requirements
Develop and implement repair and maintenance plans for damaged equipment returned to the yard
Ensure all yard and equipment processes are consistently followed and updated as necessary
Promote and maintain a high standard of organization, housekeeping, and safety compliance within all warehouse and yard areas
QUALIFICATIONS & JOB DEMANDS:
High school diploma or GED required.
Previous experience overseeing a rapid, high-pressure multi-yard operation.
Scaffolding, shoring, and hoisting experience is a plus but not necessary.
Proficient in the use of computers, excel, email, and other job-related software and technology.
Proficiency in verbal and written English required.
Strong people management, communication, and leadership skills.
Committed to maintaining safety standards at all times.
Able to adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
Organization, collaboration, multi-tasking, and attention to detail.
Occasional crouching, bending, and kneeling as needed.
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends if required.
Ability to maintain an active state issued driver's license.
