About the Role

The Company is seeking a Board Member for Community Outreach and Relations. This role is pivotal in providing the resources, structure, and institutional support necessary for the organization's artistic and creative endeavors. Board members are not involved in artistic decision-making but are essential for the long-term sustainability and success of the organization. Responsibilities include financial oversight, lending professional skills to meet organizational needs, and serving as ambassadors in the community. The ideal candidate will have a background in advancement and fundraising, strategic planning, community outreach, marketing, PR, or HR and organizational leadership. Experience in nonprofit governance, board development, major donor cultivation, and corporate partnerships is also valued.

The successful candidate will be someone who genuinely loves the work of the organization, is collaborative, communicative, and committed to the arts ecosystem. A community-oriented mindset and a willingness to engage with the organization's programming are essential. Board members are expected to attend monthly meetings, participate in at least one committee, and be actively involved in the organization's events throughout the year. The time commitment is approximately 5-7 hours per month, with additional time during key planning periods. The role requires a two-year commitment and a dedication to the time and energy it demands.
