Job Responsibilities About Our Agency: South Carolina ETV (SCETV) is the state's public educational broadcasting network. SCETV amplifies South Carolina voices, provides educational experiences, and strengthens communities while working to create a stronger, more connected, and informed South Carolina. SCETV provides national and local content to classrooms via internet services Knowitall.org and PBS Learning Media. SCETV also provides teacher training and re-certification in face-to-face and online settings.
Job Purpose: This position plays a critical role in supporting social media and digital content for South Carolina ETV and Public Radio. Specifically, this position will primarily support the South Carolina Emergency Information Network through the creation of online, weather-centered content that supports audience engagement and connectivity.
Job Duties: Reports directly to the Director of Promotions to support the creation of content for SCETV and SC Public Radio's social media platforms. Works collaboratively with the Director of SCEIN and the Director of Special Projects to ensure weather content is available in a timely manner, to include web stories, headlines, and daily newsletter posts.
Candidates are expected to work 20-25 hours per week. Minimum and Additional Requirements
A high school diploma or equivalent. Knowledge of social media platforms and how to use those platforms to disseminate information. Ability to effectively communicate orally and through the written word. Candidate should have some experience creating content with Adobe products to include Photoshop, Illustrator, Audition and/or Premiere.Preferred Qualifications
Though this role will support multiple projects, a general interest in weather-related storytelling would be helpful. General knowledge of broadcast production is also helpful.
