Job Responsibilities The adjunct instructor will teach Sociology 101 courses, primarily at Dual Enrollment high school sites during standard school hours. The instructor will be employed by Midlands Technical College and report to the appropriate Program Director. This position requires on-site instruction and adherence to all Midlands Technical College policies and procedures.Minimum and Additional Requirements
Master's degree in Sociology or a Master's degree in a closely related field with at least 18 graduate credit hours in Sociology. Must be available to teach during normal school hours at various locations onsite in Richland, Lexington, or Fairfield counties.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience teaching college students. Experience using the D2L Brightspace LMS.
Additional Comments
Adjunct faculty are compensated in accordance with Midlands Technical College's established pay schedule. The standard adjunct rate of $2,915 per three-credit-hour course. Final compensation may vary depending on academic credentials and total course credit hours. Any variation is determined upon hire and outlined in the faculty employment agreement.Benefits for State Employees The state of South Carolina offers eligible employees generous benefits, including health and dental insurance; retirement and savings plan options; and paid vacation and sick leave.
