About this Position:
Join a leading aerospace and defense manufacturer as a Robotics Engineer supporting advanced automated manufacturing systems across next-generation aerospace programs.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this role focuses on robotic programming, automation integration, system optimization, and manufacturing support within a highly automated production environment.
The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing Engineering, Production, Quality, and Maintenance to improve automation reliability, production throughput, and overall system performance.
Job Responsibilities:
Program, troubleshoot, and optimize industrial robotic systems used in aerospace and defense manufacturing applications
Develop and maintain robotic programs, automation sequences, and process logic to improve production efficiency, quality, and repeatability
Support integration of robotic systems including weld cells, material handling systems, vision systems, and automated assembly equipment
Troubleshoot electrical, controls, communication, and robotic system issues to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability
Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Production, Quality, and Maintenance teams to support automated manufacturing operations and continuous improvement initiatives
Assist with equipment commissioning, factory acceptance testing (FAT), system startups, and validation activities
Support new product introduction (NPI) activities including process development, tooling reviews, fixture integration, and automation planning
Support root cause analysis and corrective action activities related to automation and robotic system performance
Experience Required:
5+ year experience programming and supporting industrial robotic systems within a manufacturing environment
Hands-on experience with Fanuc robotic systems including programming, troubleshooting, teach pendant operation, and system integration
Strong understanding of industrial automation systems including PLCs, HMIs, sensors, servos, motion controls, and industrial communication networks
Experience with robotic welding, automated assembly, machine tending, or material handling applications preferred
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills within automated manufacturing environments
Experience supporting aerospace, defense, automotive, or other high-reliability manufacturing industries preferred
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related engineering field required
Fanuc robotics certifications, PLC programming certifications, or other automation-related certifications are a plus
