Job Description Job Title: 1st Class PipefitterJob Summary We are seeking a highly skilled
1st Class Pipefitter
with extensive shipyard and fabrication shop experience. This role is responsible for building, repairing, and installing pipe systems in both shop and shipyard environments. The ideal candidate is safety-driven, detail-oriented, and proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to ensure quality workmanship and on-time project completion.Key Responsibilities
Build, install, and repair pipe systems in fabrication shop and shipyard settings
Cut, shape, fit, bevel, and join pipe and other materials using torch and related tools
Read and interpret blueprints, Bluebook, take-offs, and project specifications
Perform construction math calculations using measuring devices
Plan, organize, and determine project methods and procedures
Use pipefitting tools such as tape measures, squares, levels, grinders, and torches
Safely move and lift heavy materials using overhead cranes and proper rigging techniques
Conduct safety inspections and follow hazardous materials handling procedures
Inspect completed work to verify conformance with specifications and quality standards
Must-Have Qualifications
Minimum
4+ years of pipefitter experience in a shipyard environment
Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
Hands-on experience with cutting, beveling, and torch work
Knowledge of take-offs, specifications, and construction math
Ability to safely operate overhead cranes and rigging equipment
Must pass a
drug screen and physical
Must pass a
written pipefitter test and hands-on skills test
Must have
reliable transportation
to and from the jobsite
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in active, high-production shipyard environments
Strong understanding of safety regulations and hazardous materials procedures
Proven ability to plan and organize work independently
Consistent work history with strong attention to detail
Ability to work effectively as part of a team or independently
