Science Adjunct Instructor Pool
Work as a Science Adjunct Instructor at the Jackson County Campus. Applicant will assume responsibility for teaching subject matter in addition to good citizenship, respect for rights of others, respect for College property, and proper attitude. Teaching courses assigned by college administration. Teaching load will vary and can include regular and non-traditional classes/assignments, including classes during the day, evenings, weekends, and on-line. Classes shall be met when scheduled and for entire period of time scheduled.Work with the school chair, as directed, on annual goals and objectives, strategic initiatives, standards and measures, student learning outcomes (SLO), etc. Work closely with the school chair in the continued evaluation and improvement of subject curricula. Update syllabi annually. Utilize the library and learning lab materials, resources, and services available to students and make recommendations for Learning Lab improvements via the school chair.Strive to better understand students' learning styles and work to improve teaching methods, content, and value of each course taught. Provide students with course objectives and course outlines that have been approved by the department chair and the Dean. Use diverse instructional methodology including audio-visual, computer software, and other technological means.Master's degree in Biology or Master's degree from an accredited institution of higher learning with a minimum of eighteen (18) graduate semester hours in Biology. Teaching experience. Excellent written and interpersonal communications skills. Familiarity with Internet, email and word processing functions.Doctorate in an appropriate field from an accredited institution of higher learning. Qualifications to teach various lecture/lab courses in the area of biological sciences (General Biology, Zoology, Botany, Microbiology, Nutrition, Human Anatomy and Physiology).
