Event Security

position is responsible for ensuring the safety of all guests at PeoplesBank Arena and Pratt&Whitney Stadium.

This role pays an hourly rate of $25.07

Responsibilities Arrives for scheduled shift on time, with a tucked shirt, neatly groomed, in a clean, pressed, well-maintained complete uniform Verifies credentials to ensure control of access into restricted areas Answers guest questions in a knowledgeable and helpful manner Responds immediately and professionally to guest disturbances/incidentsSecures both ticketed areas and non-ticketed areas of the facility Screens guests as they enter the facility in accordance with the established standards Accurately and thoroughly completes all pertinent reports and documentation Effectively diffuse potentially volatile situations Works cooperatively with all staff and emergency professionalsInteracts in a polite and professional manner, and maintains a positive and helpful demeanor with everyone Consistently and continually enforces facility policies&procedures related to prohibited items, disruptive behavior, etc. Performs other duties as required to the satisfaction of Supervisors and Management Qualifications

Valid CT Guard Card required. Prior Security experience preferred. Excellent communication skills required. Knowledge and skill in radio communication preferred. Ability to stay focused and maintain a high level of awareness of all happenings in/around the assigned location. Ability to listen effectively and take and execute directions, as given.Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Possession of, or ability to obtain, a current CPR and Crowd Management certificate preferred. Ability to work at the arena in Hartford, CT, and the stadium in East Hartford, CT. Ability to work independently and in a team environment.Ability to work in heights, in darkened areas, around crowds, loud noises, and flashing lights. Ability to remain calm and focused in fast-paced environments and stressful situations. Ability to work in adverse weather conditions as needed.
