Job Summary The Civil Engineer will design, plan, and supervise the construction of infrastructure projects such as building, bridges, roads, dams, pipelines, and water and sewage systems. Supervisory Responsibilities Where applicable, directs, and oversees staff members regarding construction, operations, administration and/or maintenance tasks and assignments.Duties/Responsibilities Performs various engineering duties in one or more areas of planning, design, and construction, or other areas of specialization. Applies engineering principles and practices with minimum technical supervision. Assumes responsibility over assigned work projects and plans and assists in supervising the work performed by other technical and support staff assigned to projectsPrepares progress reports and communication material concerning established goals and objectives. Analyzes survey reports, maps, and other data to plan projects. Perform complex calculations and use modeling software to simulate project scenarios. Conduct feasibility studies and cost estimates for potential projects.Ensure compliance with building codes, regulations and safety standards. Coordinates with project teams, government agencies, utility companies, residents, businesses, industry professionals, and external vendors to achieve project goals. Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Experience Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field 5-10 years experience in a Civil Engineering Role Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD) for drafting and design Familiarity with engineering software (Mathcad) for calculations and analysis Knowledge of GIS (Geographic Information Systems) for mapping and data analysisExperience with land surveying techniques and equipment Strong understanding of construction management principles and practices Familiarity with Revit for building information modeling (BIM) Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications Skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesExcellent communication and interpersonal skills Attention to detail and accuracy in work Ability to work independently as well as part of a team Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
