Associate Researcher, Johnston

Responsibilities:
Designing and planning experiments with timelines
Ensure that all experiments are planned on time, and in a safe manner
Perform vector construction and Agrobacterium transformation with QC
Perform transient assays developed by the Transgene expression engineering team
Phenotyping of transgenic plants and transgene expression analysis
Data analysis and reporting
Continually look for process improvement opportunities and help the team to implement solutions
Troubleshooting of processes as needed
Make detailed observations, analyze data and interpret results
Collaborate with colleagues in controlled environment for plant sample collection
Promotion of a safe working environment.
Perform routine lab support tasks like plasmid isolation, agrobacterium transformation and other molecular biology techniques developed by SRA's in the team
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Molecular biology, crop sciences, biochemistry or or related science fields with 1-3 years of working experience or equivalent amounts of relevant education and experience.
Strong computer skills and experience with data analysis
Prior experience working in a research laboratory and field is required
Experience with problem identification, problem solving and process improvement
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Attention to detail and ability to stay focused while performing repetitive tasks
Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and committed to personal/technical growth
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects/ experiments
Understanding principles of experiment design, and statistical data analyses is desired.
Excellent organizational skills and record keeping ability
