Landscape Designer, Herndon

Down to Earth Landscaping, Inc. is a leading landscaping company serving New Jersey, Maryland, Washington DC, and Virginia with expertise in Design Build, Maintenance, Irrigation, Turf Management and Snow Removal.

We are seeking a Landscape Designer to support our Residential Design Build Division in our Virginia Branch office. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate, highly creative landscape design solutions to suit a variety of site conditions and client preferences. The primary focus is on designing uniquely desirable living spaces.

Responsibilities include:

• Create landscape designs both on paper and by utilizing CAD
• Analyze natural and manmade elements of the area including soil, slope, drainage and natural vegetation, lighting, and other related construction materials
• Manage installation crews efficiently
• Meet with clients and manage client accounts
• Negotiate and coordinate contracts with clientele and vendors
• Estimate project costs throughout the design consultation process
• Act as the main budgeter and planner for client?s design solutions
• Communicate throughout the entire design process with new and existing clients to understand the scope of the projects and goals of all involved
• Additional follow up/responsibilities as necessary regarding the achievement of client and contract satisfaction

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of horticulture and landscape materials
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Creative problem solver with a desire to make a positive impact on their clients
• Detail oriented and organized, with exceptional prioritization skills
• Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills ensuring client satisfaction
• Ability to convey designs to client using paper and computer aided methods

Job Requirements:

• BA in Landscape Design, Landscape Architecture or equivalent.-preferred but not required
• Knowledge of horticulture and landscape materials.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
