Position Summary:

Enbridge is seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineer III (or IV, depending on qualifications) to support compressor station and metering facility projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory and industry standards, managing third-party design deliverables, and supporting project execution from concept through commissioning.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure design compliance with applicable regulations, industry codes, and corporate standards.

Define scope, schedule, and budget for compressor station and metering facility design and materials.

Oversee third-party engineering firms to ensure deliverables meet project timelines and budgets.

Review and approve design documents including drawings, reports, and materials lists.

Lead and participate in design reviews with project stakeholders, including operations and construction teams.

Evaluate vendor quotations for equipment and materials, preparing technical assessments and recommendations.

Incorporate lessons learned from past projects to improve future designs and execution.

Support departmental initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.

 

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, or related Engineering discipline.

Minimum of 7 years of engineering experience.

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks independently.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Valid driver’s license (MVR check required prior to hire).

Proven problem-solving capabilities utilizing standards and past experience.

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

7–10 years of experience in natural gas design for compressor stations and metering facilities.

Familiarity with CFR 192 and other applicable industry codes.

Experience with time-sensitive project deliverables.

 

Physical & Working Requirements:

Physical Requirements:

Light to moderate lifting (up to 20 lbs.), grasping, kneeling, reaching, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, and standing.

Visual and auditory ability to work with screens and participate in meetings for extended periods.

 

Working Conditions:

Approximately 80% office-based work with project teams.

Approximately 20% fieldwork, including site scoping and construction/commissioning support.
