Professional Engineer - Civil, Texas

Position: Transportation Civil Engineer (Remote – Houston, TX)

We are seeking a full-time Civil Engineering professional to join a growing infrastructure consulting firm with a strong presence in the transportation sector. This remote role role in Houston allows for flexibility to work from anywhere in the city.

The firm specializes in transportation infrastructure, including roadway and bridge design, surveying, utility coordination, right-of-way acquisition, and related engineering services. The successful candidate will contribute to a variety of transportation projects for public sector clients, including state DOTs and municipal agencies, primarily within the Texas region.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and contribute to the design of roadways, bridges, and storm sewer systems.

Manage projects from concept through final delivery, ensuring quality and timelines are met.

Coordinate tasks and assignments for junior engineers, CAD technicians, and support staff.

Communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.

Apply a working knowledge of transportation engineering standards and practices.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline.

Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required.

At least 5 years of experience in transportation design engineering.

Proficiency in software tools such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and Microsoft Office.

Familiarity with applicable engineering standards including AASHTO, MUTCD, and state-specific design manuals.

Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to mentor junior staff.
