Associate Counsel - Houston, TX (Remote)

Responsibilities

Researching laws and preparing legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda. Rendering opinions on liability, damages, and value as requested by the Claims Department. Preparing and handling pleadings, motions, and discovery, including depositions/examinations before trial and examinations under oath, and defending by trial or dispositive hearing on all matters assigned.Qualifications

2-6+ years of experience in related field litigation. Insurance/defense and/or personal injury litigation experience. Juris Doctor degree. Admission to the Texas Bar and licensed in good standing to practice law in Texas, with mandatory CLE requirements. Must be able to travel as required, including to attend trials, hearings, depositions, management meetings and conferences.Must document files in a clear, concise, professional written manner understandable to customers, clients, co‑workers and other employees. Must follow complex instructions, resolve conflicts or facilitate conflict resolution, and have strong organization, priority‑setting and multi‑tasking skills.Preferred Qualifications

Civil litigation experience. Insurance defense‑related litigation experience. Professional communication skills in person, phone and email. Location

Remote (within commutable distance to Houston office). Salary

Annual salary range: $112,750.00– $175,275.00 (general guideline; subject to factors such as experience, education and market). Other
