Your impact

We are seeking a Senior Design Manage r to support delivery of a nationally significant coastal resilience and flood protection program. Based in Houston, this role provides senior leadership across all design phases for a complex, multi billion dollar infrastructure program delivered using Design Build and Progressive Design Build models.

The Senior Design Manager leads multi disciplinary teams, manages engineering partners, and works closely with construction teams to deliver safe, efficient, and constructible design solutions.

What You Will Do

• Lead design development for large scale flood gate, marine, and heavy civil infrastructure

• Integrate civil, structural, geotechnical, hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, marine, and environmental designs

• Manage design execution, schedules, budgets, and phased deliverables

• Collaborate with construction partners on constructability, sequencing, and risk reduction

• Oversee design subconsultants to ensure quality, coordination, and performance

• Champion BIM enabled and digital delivery approaches

• Communicate with clients, regulators, and stakeholders on design progress and technical decisions

• Mentor and develop engineers while fostering a collaborative and safety focused culture

Here's what you'll need

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline, Master’s preferred

• 15 or more years of experience delivering major infrastructure design projects

• Proven leadership on Design Build or alternative delivery projects valued at $500 million or more

• Experience with marine infrastructure, ports, heavy civil works, and large MEICA systems

• Strong experience leading multi disciplinary teams and external partners

• Hands on experience with BIM and digital engineering tools

• Excellent communication and leadership skills

• Highly organized with strong problem solving and decision making ability

Ideally, you'll also have:

• Professional Engineer licensure

• Experience with flood gates or storm surge barrier systems

Posted Salary Range: Minimum

144,600.00

Posted Salary Range: Upper

225,000.00

The base salary range for this position is $144,600.00 to $225,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
