divh2Staff Accountant/h2pWe are seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to join a collaborative, fully remote team supporting enterprise-level accounting and financial reporting functions.
This role has contract-to-hire potential and is best suited for someone who can quickly get up to speed in a fast-moving environment while balancing hands-on accounting work with people leadership.
The position is with a leading infrastructure construction and engineering firm in North America, known for its expertise in designing and building critical infrastructure such as highways, bridges, rail systems, dams, aviation facilities, and water management projects.
While the role is fully remote, candidates located in or near Atlanta, GA are preferred.
/ppThe Staff Accountant will be responsible for reviewing bank and balance sheet reconciliations prepared by the Shared Services team to ensure accuracy and completeness, documenting and resolving any identified action items.
This role will prepare and review intercompany billings and reconcile intercompany clearing accounts, while also posting routine monthly journal entries such as accruals, amortizations, and true-ups.
The Staff Accountant will coordinate audit support by gathering, validating, and maintaining accurate backup documentation for internal and external audits.
In addition, this role will work closely with cross-functional partners including Treasury, Accounts Payable, Payroll, IT, and Field Finance to address questions and support business needs, while also handling ad-hoc accounting requests and assisting with month-end close activities as needed.
