Description:
The primary purpose of this position is to provide a high degree of competency in administration of the Agencys complex, multi-platform computer systems and applications that support the program area applications and business area applications of the department. The Bureau of Technology and Services (BITS)/Technical Operations Support Section (TOSS) Operations Services Unit (OSU) is comprised of a cross-functional multi-member technical team who plan, consult, implement, maintain and support the Agencys complex, multi-platform computer systems and applications, including 24/7 OnCall rotation services. The OSU team provides comprehensive technical services and support for the Agencys application computing environments which supports the business needs of the Agencys over 6,000 users throughout the State, including seven facilities/institutes which are 24/7 hospital environments. Additionally, other state agency users, county users and a large number of Wisconsin citizens access information and services utilizing the Agencys technology systems and applications.
This position will provide systems administration, 24/7 on-call support, and consulting for the Departments hosted and non-hosted computing environments. These environments include approximately 80 Agency Managed Application servers (AMAS) hosted at the State Data Center and 18 remote multi-function servers located at the Agencys facilities, regional offices, and enrollment services sites in Milwaukee.
The OSUs mission is to envision, develop, design, plan, test, secure, implement, support, and refine DHS IT systems and services with high level quality. OSU functions include, but are not limited to: web application systems administration and support; client/server systems administration and support; Citrix web application delivery and support; directory services administration and support; LAMP stack systems; and Windows server administration and support. Furthermore, OSU provides data storage management and support, backup/restore management and support, application/systems monitoring, anti-virus management, and after hours on-call support.
