A licensed attorney to join the Office of Chief Legal Counsel to provide legal services to various parties. Recent law school graduates who passed the bar exam are encouraged to apply!

Where We Are Located:

This position offers a hybridized work schedule. The position will be headquartered at and required to work from the Hill Farms State Office Building in Madison, WI at least 1 days per week. Position Summary

This position is primarily responsible for conducting legal reviews of applications for professional credentials such as licenses to practice nursing, dentistry, cosmetology, etc. This position will also assist in providing legal support and guidance to the regulatory authorities on credentialing matters.

Specific responsibilities include: Reviewing application materials including but not limited to criminal convictions, employment termination, substance abuse, and/or fitness to practice information. Provide legal analysis to Department and/or professional board members concerning legal sufficiency of application materials.

Salary Information

This position is in schedule-range (09-75) with an

hourly rate between $39.00 to $44.00.

This is a Limited Term Employment (LTE) position and limited to 1,039 hours in 26 consecutive pay periods (1 year).

Wisconsin residency is required for Limited Term Employment positions.

Limited Term Employment (LTE) positions are not civil service classified positions, do not give any rights to permanent civil service classified positions and do not lead to permanent status.

Qualifications

A minimum requirement for this position is the ability to practice law in the State of Wisconsin at the time of application deadline.

Qualified applicants will have training or experience with all the following:

Training and/or experience conducting legal research and making determinations based on legal research. Training and/or experience providing legal advice and interpretations to clients. Training and/or experience drafting legal analysis/opinion letters or documents.
