ETL/Ab-Initio Developer, Texas

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Python Developer for a direct placement assignment with one of our premier financial services clients in Irving, TX.

Responsibilities:

Will be a key contributor to the design, development, and maintenance of our core platform and applications.

This role requires a deep understanding of Python and related technologies, as well as a strong commitment to writing high-quality, testable code.

Develop and maintain backend systems and APIs using Python and relevant frameworks (e.g., Django, Flask, FastAPI).

Implement RESTful APIs and microservices, adhering to best practices for API design and security.

Integrate with various data sources and databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Oracle) using appropriate libraries and ORMs.

Write efficient and optimized code, conducting performance profiling and optimization as needed.

Implement robust error handling and logging mechanisms.

Develop and maintain unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and reliability.

Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving code style and architecture.

Collaborate with DevOps engineers to deploy and maintain applications in cloud environments.

Work with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) to package and deploy applications.

Stay up to date with the latest advancements in Python and related technologies, advocating for and implementing best practices.

Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing within the team.

Required Skills:

B.E. in Computer Science or a related field.

5+ years of professional experience in Python development.

Deep understanding of Python and its ecosystem, including experience with asynchronous programming (e.g., asyncio, aiohttp).

Expertise in at least one Python web framework (e.g., Django, Flask, FastAPI).

Strong experience with relational and NoSQL databases.

Proficiency in writing unit and integration tests using frameworks like pytest.

Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).

Solid understanding of software design patterns and architectural principles.

Experience with cloud platforms and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.

Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with message queues (e.g., IBM MQ, Kafka).

Experience with performance monitoring and optimization tools.

Exposure to building horizontally scalable, highly available, highly resilient, and low latency applications

Experience with Gen AI.
