Patient Account Specialist
Purpose Statement: Responsible for maintaining patient spending accounts, completing admission and discharge set ups, maintaining files for audits and Medicaid/Social Security packets.
Essential Functions:
Provide strong customer service.
Receive and enter all deposits to patient spending accounts.
Record all purchase transactions for patient spending accounts.
Maintain patient files.
Reconcile Patient Trust and Bank Accounts.
Generate admit documents and process admits in Medhost.
Process discharges in Medhost.
Work with Medicaid and Social Security on applications and renewal packets.
Work with patient trust auditors.
Census report generation and compilation.
Other Functions:
Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.
Education/Experience/Skill Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Knowledge of medical billing/collections experience required.
Excel spreadsheet usage and creation required.
Math and bookkeeping and basic accounting knowledge required.
Banking or cash handling experience required.
Licenses/Designations/Certifications:
Not applicable.
