divh2Field Supervisor/h2pJob Category: Operations/ppLocation: Brunswick, GA 31523, USA/ph3Description/h3pstrongEssential Functions:/strong/pulliCommunicate with Field Manager, Customer Service Representatives and Port Representatives as necessary to gather information regarding ship arrivals, allocations, special campaigns and priority orders./liliBased on projected work load, schedule appropriate number of employees to insure timely completion, quality and the most efficient utilization of staffing./liliCommunicate work assignments to Drivers and Shipping Coordinators and monitor progress toward completion throughout the day./liliAdjust work assignments as necessary to accommodate needs of Port Representatives and other Departments./liliOversee the off-loading of vehicles to the designated area as instructed by the Field Manager./liliVerify the number of vehicles off loaded and that the purification of the manifest is complete and accurate./liliKeep work crew advised of changing priorities and assignments./liliPlan vehicle movements in a manner that results in minimal wait time for Drivers and consolidate movement whenever possible./liliWork with other Department Managers to facilitate the efficient processing of units through each department to the satisfaction of Port Representatives./liliTrouble shoot as needed to facilitate the processing of damaged units or other units requiring special attention./liliProvide orientation to new employees or temporary service employees regarding proper vehicle handling procedures, time keeping procedures, hazard communication standards and safe work practices./liliProvide guidance and technical support to crew members on an ongoing basis regarding changing work procedures, safety precautions, etc./liliProvide feedback to employees regarding performance. Prepare disciplinary notices and conduct counseling sessions with employees regarding performance deficiencies and/or failure to abide by established procedures and safe work practices. Keep Field Manager advised of any performance problems./liliWhen needed, and with the assistance of Human Resources, select and hire new employees to maintain adequate staffing./liliWhen needed and as required, participate in management meetings./liliServe as a role model to other employees in both work performance and adherence to policies and procedures./liliOrder supplies as needed./liliPromote the goal of safety and the prevention of on-the-job accidents resulting in injury to employees and property./liliMust have a spotter when backing up vehicles./liliMaintain a safe working environment and follow all policies and procedures regarding safety./liliPerform other duties as assigned./li/ulpstrongMinimum Qualifications:/strong/pulliHigh school diploma or GED./liliMust have a valid drivers license./liliMust have and obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC Badge)./liliMinimum of six (6) months experience in Field Department and working knowledge of specific account procedures./li/ulpstrongPreferred Qualifications:/strong/pulliAbility to effectively communicate, understand and follow verbal and written instructions./liliMust possess problem-solving abilities and be detail oriented./liliMust have reliable transportation to and from work./liliAbility to record and verify numbers 17 characters in length./liliAbility to drive both automatic and straight shift vehicles./liliAbility to function within working conditions and physical requirements described above./liliAbility to work assigned hours. Including overtime and weekends as needed./li/ulpstrongPhysical Requirements:/strong/ppMust be able to endure long periods of sitting while driving a vehicle.
