AI/ML Engineer, New Jersey

Pay Range: $70 - $80/hour.  Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).

 

Key Responsibilities:

Partner with Data Scientists to operationalize ML models and build foundational platforms for training and deployment.

Operationalize ML models at scale, serving predictions to tens of millions of users.

Explore emerging technology trends to simplify and optimize the ML and data ecosystem.

Design and develop feature generation and store frameworks to enable shared usage of features across models.

Build monitoring tools for:

Detecting data/feature drift

Measuring prediction uncertainty

Automating prediction explanation for model diagnostics.

Drive innovation and implement forward-looking technical solutions.

Guide teams to improve agility and productivity, resolve technical roadblocks, and mitigate risks.

Key Requirements and Technology Experience:

Key Skills: Python software development .

CI/CD technology expertise, including packaging and containerizing using Jenkins, Docker, Terraform .

API development experience using REST, Flask, or FastAPI .

AWS services: SageMaker, Bedrock, Lambda, CloudFormationAzure Cognitive Services (esp. for deploying OpenAI models) Google Cloud Vertex AI .

Triton Inference Server ,Deep Java Library (DJL) ,Hugging Face .

Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in a technology-related field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering) or equivalent experience.

5+ years of proven experience in developing and implementing Python-based cloud applications and/or machine learning solutions.

Proficiency in Python software development, with strong experience in its ML ecosystem:

Libraries such as numpy, pandas, scikit-learn, tensorflow.

Experience with object-oriented and functional programming paradigms.

Solid skills in Linux scripting.

Experience packaging and containerizing software using CI/CD tools:

Jenkins for CI/CD automation

Docker for containerization

Git for version control

Experience building RESTful APIs using Flask or FastAPI.

Proven experience in building cloud-native applications using AWS services, including:

SageMaker, Bedrock, Lambda, S3, CloudFormation, SQS, SNS, Step Functions, EventBridge, CloudWatch, AWS Batch.

Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) using:

AWS CloudFormation

Terraform or OpenTofu

Experience supporting critical applications and delivering system automation.

Solid knowledge in developing highly scalable distributed systems using open-source technologies.

Experience in ML model deployment, tuning, inference, and measurement.

Familiar with Agile methodologies such as Kanban and SCRUM.

Strong technical design and analysis skills.

Ability to handle ambiguity and operate in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Familiarity with:

Applied data science methods, feature engineering, and machine learning algorithms.

Working with structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.

ML infrastructure design with a focus on software engineering.

Adaptability to changing business priorities and evolving technology landscapes in the data science and big data domains.

Python software development .

CI/CD technology expertise, including packaging and containerizing using Jenkins, Docker, Terraform.

API development experience using REST, Flask, or FastAPI.

Cloud experience:

AWS services: SageMaker, Bedrock, Lambda, CloudFormation
