Software Engineer, SMA, New Jersey

The Role:
Lord Abbett is seeking a Software Engineer who is self-driven, motivated to achieve results, with a high standard for work deliverables, to join the Investment Platforms team.  You will be responsible for developing various modules of our portfolio modeling and order management applications managed by investment platform technology team for our SMA business that manages investment portfolio tailored to the specific goals, risk tolerance, and preferences of a single investor. This is an opportunity to join a fast-paced environment, with ability to learn about the asset management industry and have an impact on many strategic initiatives around investment Platforms.

Design and develop software modules to meet the business requirements

Analyze existing software code and make enhancements for new requirements

Work under limited guidance

Actively think about system stability and enhancing our applications

Understand and deeply focus on the real-world benefit your systems and products will have on our end users

Design, implement and maintain data pipelines that can efficiently and reliably ingest and store data from a variety of internal and external sources.

Proficient in handling backend database work, well-versed in Python or Java, with the expertise to process and load data seamlessly into databases.

A strong desire to document and share work done to aid in long term support

You'll need to have::
8+ years of experience in testing, documentation, production support, applications developing, modern web applications using Rest API, caching like Redis, Kafka and JAVA Architecture

Strong experience in Spring Framework such as Spring MVC, IOC, AOP and Spring JDBC

Experience in building Restful web API with Spring, Spring Boot

Experience in designing front end interfaces using React or similar JavaScript framework.

Unit and integration testing using Junit and Mockito

Familiar with DevOps tools and experience in CI/CD software

Experience in database system like SQL Server, PostgreSQL.

Experience with source control system like GIT (preferred), Azure ADO or similar

Experience in Python will be a plus

Good problem solving, intellectual curiosity and analytical abilities

Takes full ownership of his/her work and delivers with high standards

Demonstrates good communication skills and comfortable working with many teams

Compensation Information: Annual base salary for this role is $120,000 - $145,000. Salary is estimated for this role. Actual pay may be different.

Discretionary Bonus: Role may be eligible to receive an annual discretionary bonus. Discretionary bonuses are determined by several factors including, but not limited to, firm, team, and individual performance.
