A baker at the Fourth Coast's primary role is making great quality bread using great quality ingredients. The bakery serves not only the customer of the Fourth Coast, but also supplies the bread for the Crow's Nest. Each baker is expected to replicate our recipes consistently to produce the product that our customers have grown to expect. The expertise of our bakers is relied upon as to assist in curating new products to our list of offerings.Skills Ability to accurately follow weights, measurements, and cook times for recipes Knowledge in how to safely operate food service equipment such as a stand mixer, oven, and bread slicer Experience in kneading and shaping dough by hand Strong communication skills with a willingness to communicate amongst a teamKnowledge in proper food handling guidelines Maintaining a positive attitude Responsibilities Mixing, kneading, and preparing a variety of baked goods Completing daily par counts on bread needs Ensuring that all items baked during your shift meet the standards of the bakery Cleaning and putting away all items used while working each dayMeasure and weigh ingredients accurately Communicating any ingredient needs to ensure that the bakery is adequately supplied Arranging bread on display for sale in the cafe Must be available to work shifts that are start at 1PM or 2PM and end by 7PM Crows Nest and Fourth Coast are a locally owned restaurant and cafe.
