Accounting Assistant, Miami

Welcome About the company A prominent 55 cooperative housing community in North Miami Beach featuring 504 units across 12 buildings, is seeking a steady and accurate Accounting Assistant . About the Position This is an accounting-first role designed to stabilize and streamline financial operations. The successful candidate must be ready to hit the ground running with Sage 50 (a plus) and will serve as a key point of contact for a diverse group of shareholders and residents. Responsabilities System Management: Utilize Sage 50 (latest version) for all core accounting workflows. Accounts Receivable: Record and reconcile monthly shareholder maintenance payments and track collections to ensure ledger accuracy. Accounts Payable: Prepare and process payments and checks to suppliers and vendors. Financial Reporting: Assist with basic reporting for internal reviews and quarterly oversight by the external accountant. Payroll: Support payroll processing for a small internal staff of approximately 6 employees. Compliance: Assist with Miami-Dade and State of Florida regulatory filings and board documentation. Mandatory Qualifications Bilingual Skills: Must be fully bilingual (English and Spanish) to effectively engage with the community and shareholders. Education: Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent. Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrated ability to interact with a diverse 55 resident population with patience, empathy, and professional judgment. Preferred Experience Background in Property Management , Condominiums, or Co-Op office environments. Comfort working in a small, lean office setting (seasonal staffing may result in only 2 people onsite).
