GM Fairfax Stamping in Kansas City, KS is pursuing a Tool and Die Engineer. We are seeking individuals with technical knowledge that can plan, assist, and lead a team of diemakers at our site with tasks ranging from new die tryout, die maintenance, and continuous improvement, as well as engineering changes during the life of a vehicle program. Die design review support may be required during a new vehicle launch process. Safety is most important to us followed by people&quality at our facility. Leading safety, people and quality of work is of high priority in the daily activity. What You'll Do: Lead a group of UAW tool&die makers in their daily activities Ensure safe work practices are followed and continually improved Provide guidance on tryout, production operation, and maintenance of dies Lead quality improvement activities to provide high quality parts to the customer Support business plan deployment objectivesImplement best practices, lessons learned, and support manufacturing innovations Travel to die construction sites for buyoffs and tryout as necessary Your Skills&Abilities (Required Qualifications): Bachelor's degree or 4+ years equivalent work experience in Tool&Die Ability to work full time, 40 hours per week&willing to work overtime including weekends as necessary Willingness to be shift flexible Ability to travel during die construction and tryout phase of product launches What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications): 3-5+ years of Tool&Die experience Outstanding interpersonal and relationship management skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with varying levels of the organization as needed 3D Machining and wire EDM
