McKibben Powersports seeks a dynamic and experienced General Manager to lead all aspects of our dealership operations. The General Manager will oversee sales, service, parts, finance, and customer satisfaction. This leadership role requires a high-energy individual with a deep understanding of the powersports industry, strong business acumen, and a proven track record of driving results and fostering a high-performance team culture. Key Responsibilities:
Operations Management
Oversee daily operations of the dealership, including sales, service, parts, and finance & insurance (F&I).
Ensure compliance with all dealership, manufacturer, and legal regulations and policies.
Implement and refine operational processes to ensure efficiency and productivity across departments.
Monitor and manage inventory levels, ensuring proper turn rates and accurate reporting.
Leadership & Team Development
Hire, train, and manage department managers and staff across all departments.
Foster a positive, accountable, team-oriented environment that promotes employee growth and high morale.
Lead regular staff meetings, provide performance feedback, and conduct annual reviews.
Sales & Customer Experience
Set and monitor sales goals and performance targets for the sales team.
Create and implement strategies to improve the customer experience and retention.
Manage vendor and manufacturer relationships to ensure support, incentive utilization, and product knowledge.
Personally engage with key customers to support a positive brand reputation.
Financial Performance
Prepare and manage department budgets and monthly forecasts.
Analyze financial reports (P&L statements, balance sheets, etc.) and take corrective action when needed.
Maximize profitability across all revenue streams, including units, service, parts, and F&I.
Marketing & Community Engagement
Collaborate with the marketing team on promotions, events, and digital strategies to drive traffic and awareness.
Represent McKibben Powersports locally and at regional/national industry events. Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of powersports, automotive, or recreational vehicle dealership management experience.
Proven leadership experience in retail sales and service environments.
Strong financial literacy and understanding of P&L statements, budgets, and inventory management.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Passion for powersports and strong product knowledge (or willingness to learn quickly).
Proficiency in dealership management systems (DMS), CRM software, and MS Office Suite. Preferred Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
OEM/manufacturer training certifications.
Familiarity with CDK, Lightspeed, or other DMS platforms.
Background in sales training, F&I compliance, and customer retention programs. Benefits:
