Monday - Friday
Shift - 4 p.m. - 12:30 a.m.
Wage Range: $17.23 - $26.23
Definition of Position:
The Environmental Service Tech. smiles and greets staff, visitors and patients in a friendly fashion. The Environmental Service Tech maintains environmental and infection control standards within established policies and procedures of Good Shepherd Medical Center. The Environmental Service Tech performs a variety of general cleaning tasks to maintain patient rooms, offices, hallways and other assigned areas of the facility. The Environmental Service Tech follows standard practices and procedures and complies with regulatory requirements. The Environmental Service Tech is well groomed and demonstrates appropriate and professional conduct.
Responsibilities:
Essential Job Functions:
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Dusts furniture, woodwork and equipment and dust-mop floors.
Cleans fixtures in rooms and bathrooms.
Operates mechanical floor cleaners, buffers, vacuums, shampooers and related environmental service equipment if required in assigned areas.
Wet-mops rooms, halls, stairwells and other areas.
Shampoos rugs and furniture.
Cleans vents, fan fixtures, top of windows, doorframes and other high areas using a step stool or ladder.
Gathers and disposes of trash and waste materials using specified bags or containers.
Buffs, strips, waxes and polishes floors if required in assigned areas.
Moves furniture and other heavy objects as required.
Clears and sets up conference room furniture as required.
Performs terminal cleaning procedures of patient rooms and prepares rooms for new occupants; follows isolation procedures in isolation rooms.
Cleans and disinfects all fixtures, floors, mirrors, windows, doors and walls in all areas of the hospital.
Keeps work areas neat and orderly, cleans equipment and assists with other cleaning duties as assigned.
Assists with emergency situations, when needed.
Must function as a team member and communicate effectively with others.
May be required to work on weekends, holidays and/or other shifts than the one hired for.
May be required to perform other duties as assigned.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
