Summary Catholic Charities of Acadiana is seeking a compassionate, organized, and mission-driven Administrative Coordinator to support the Deaf Action Center and the broader mission of our organization. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys helping others, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and wants to make a meaningful impact through service and community support. In this position, you will coordinate interpreter services, support daily administrative operations, and serve as a welcoming point of contact for clients, visitors, interpreters, and community partners. This role requires strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills, along with a professional and compassionate approach to serving individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures. Key Responsibilities
Schedule Interpreter services
Input service provider requests into the calendar
Assign interpreter based on qualifications and proficiencies identified during interpreter interview
Confirm 48hrs before the appointment with the service provider and interpreter
Administrative duties include but are not limited to:
Answer phone calls for Deaf Action Center
Answer phone calls for Catholic Charities and transfer to the proper person and/or department
Greet all visitors and direct them to proper program contacts
Collect and organize interpreter invoices for payroll and accounts receivable
Maintain interpreter files and account receivable files
Collect and deliver mail to and from internal offices to postal services
Running errands and clerical duties for Directors as assigned
Clerical Duties as assigned
Assist in planning and coordinating Braille Classes
Availability for limited night and weekend work as needed, including but not limited to, answering Deaf Action Center on-call phone
Job Qualifications:
Must be proficient in clerical skills, including but not limited to typing and filing.
Must be proficient in Microsoft.
Must possess a high degree of respect and confidentiality.
Must have proper phone etiquette.
Must be able to manage time efficiently.
Must possess good organizational skills and must be capable of working independently.
Must be multi-task oriented; accurate, thorough, punctual, and cooperative.
Must follow all office policies, procedures, and regulations.
Must be available for limited night and weekend work, as needed.
Sign Language skills preferred, but not mandatory.
Job Specifications
Medium: Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects 100% of the time.
