Position Overview
As a PET/Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will perform high-quality imaging procedures, ensuring optimal diagnostic outcomes through professional judgment. You will assess patient conditions, adapt procedures for safety and compliance, administer necessary agents, maintain accurate records, and perform quality control on sophisticated imaging equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Perform high-quality PET and Nuclear Medicine imaging procedures according to established protocols.
Exercise professional judgment to adapt procedures and ensure optimal diagnostic quality.
Assess patient condition, ensure patient safety, and maintain compliance with all regulatory guidelines (state, federal, institutional).
Safely and accurately administer radioactive materials and contrast agents, monitoring patients for any reactions.
Maintain precise and accurate documentation in PACS/RIS systems, ensuring proper patient identification and procedure verification.
Perform regular quality control checks on imaging equipment to ensure accuracy, safety, and proper functioning.
Stay current with the latest advancements, technology, and regulatory requirements in PET and Nuclear Medicine.
Qualifications
Education: Graduate of a Nuclear Medicine Technology program. (Required)
Licensure/Certification:
Arizona Department of Health Services (AZDHS) licensure as required. (Required)
ARRT certification in Nuclear Medicine (NM) or NMTCB certification. (Required)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association. (Required)
Skills & Knowledge:
Expertise in performing Nuclear Medicine and PET imaging procedures. (Required)
Familiarity with CT technology and imaging protocols. (Required)
Ability to work safely in an environment with potential exposure to radiation and infectious diseases.
Preferred Qualifications
Education from an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
Experience with Computerized Tomography (CT) imaging.
Physical & Work Requirements
Ability to lift and safely assist patients during procedures.
Requires standing and walking for extended periods.
Ability to handle equipment up to 50 lbs and assist with patient transfers potentially up to 300 lbs.
Requires focus and close attention to detail when monitoring imaging equipment and patients.
