Temporary, Part-Time Biology Instructor - (Unsolicited)
The department of Biology is accepting applications for part-time instructor responsible for teaching undergraduate biology courses on an as-needed basis. The Biology Department at times needs temporary part-time Instructors to fill in for faculty on sabbaticals or leaves. Temporary, part-time instructor responsible for teaching biology courses, including both lecture and laboratory, at the introductory level. Relevant courses include, but are not limited to, BIOL100 (General Biology) and BIOL101 (Foundations of Biology). While the Department's primary instructional need is for BIOL 100/101 instructors, additional opportunities to teach "core" lab-based courses, such as Concepts of Botany, Concepts of Zoology, Cell&Developmental Biology, or Genetics&Molecular Biology are possible based on situational need. The purpose of this posting is to generate a pool of qualified faculty. Applications submitted will be reviewed on an as needed basis based on enrollment. Anyone meeting the qualifications may be contacted for an interview and potentially hired when a need exists. In the event that you are interviewed but not immediately hired, your application will remain in the departments pool of qualified faculty.A complete application will include: Cover letter describing qualifications for the position and teaching philosophy. Current curriculum vitae or professional resume. Copies of registrar-issued transcripts for all degrees conferred and in progress. Two letters of professional reference dated within the last 12 months.Incomplete applications will not be considered. Applicants are encouraged to submit their application materials far enough in advance of the closing date to allow time for their references to respond.
